The Markin-MacPhail Westside Legacy Trail

In 2016 the planning, fundraising, building, the Markin-MacPhail Westside Legacy Trail (WLT) began. The multi-recreational, human-powered Trail is now paved—25 km from Invermere to Fairmont Hot Springs on Lake Windermere‘s west side.

The Westside Legacy Trail crosses Westside Road only three times for the entire 25km length of the Westside Legacy Trail. This paved Trail will bring many new safe opportunities to enjoy being outside.

  • Two Trailhead Kiosks will mark the beginning and end of the Westside Legacy Trail.
  • There will be three parking areas for visitors to enter the Westside Legacy Trail.
  • The Trail meets four small creeks and a large beaver pond.
  • Seven interpretive signs along The Westside Legacy Trail.
